Do you know what today is? It’s Hobonichi Day. Yes, you read that right. Hobonichi Day! I can’t believe it’s that time. I’m usually prepared and have a list by now but nope, not this time. I’m making my list as I’m writing this post. Let’s go!
This year, I will be ordering from Atlas Stationers. I usually order straight from the Hobonichi site, but I just don’t want to go through all the troubles, like last year and also the shipping fee with the possible tariffs etc etc. Just too much headache. I want to order with no issues and sleep well haha.
Okay, let’s get started. I’m my previous post, I mentioned my interest on trying the Midori Hibino for 2026. Well, looking at what I have now, and my 2024 journal, I already know that the Hibino will not fit in my Hermes Ulysse PM notebook cover (the cover I want to continue using for years). So, sadly, no Hibino for me. Since I do love my current set up now and am successful on finishing it… it will be 4 years by end of the year; I’ve decided to stick with what I have.
Every year, I get a pencil board to “match” my cover. This one spoke to me the most. The illustration is precious and in a way, reminds me of our cozy home.
This isn’t a must have but I really love Yumi Kitagishi and would love to somehow add this to my journal cover… we will see…
Phew! Not gonna lie, took me a bit to really choose that cover, because I kinda really love the Yumi Kitagishi: White Cat’s Table Decorations Cover as well. But I know me, I got the Yumi Kitagishi covers in the past and have not used them at all because well… black is really not my color. I think I’m really happy with my choice. Now I know I have my Hermes Ulysse PM notebook cover to use again, but I still want a Hobonichi cover for “the year.” To me, covers sets the tone for my journal/my year. And when I go to archive my journal, it will actually be placed in the Hobonichi cover and then placed on my shelf. Hope that makes sense hehe.
Oh, below are 3 extra goodies I want to get. The Add-on Sticky Notes looks amazing for tipping in photos, ephemeras or what have you. The Sticky Note Roll by Yumi Kitagishi is just too adorable and the Yuri Sanae: Forest Lake CoC is just too good to pass up.
So there you have it, my Hobonichi list for 2026. I’m very happy with my list and can’t wait to make my purchase later tonight.
