Hello, long time no blog. I wanted to hop on here to touch base on what I’m thinking about getting for 2027. As many of you know, I’m currently in a Midori Hibino (A6), and you can say that I am very much in love. This book is honestly perfect for what I do. My reasons are rather simple really, but let’s break it down.
I used my journal for memory keeping (daily), where I add photos to my pages everyday; use stickers and such. It tends to get bulky by the end of the year. My one gripe with what I had used before was the lack of writing space. Yes, I know this is still an A6 size (and I love this size), but with the Hobonichi A6 Techo, there were just so much wasted space because of the quotes on top and bottom. Also, instead of 1 page a day, you get 2 pages a day. So much room to write in, I love it!
Speaking of writing, this paper has been great so far. I always write with fountain pen inks and haven’t had any issues what so ever. I’ve also been using Pentel Brush Sign Pens and others a like in my pages and no issues with that too.
This isn’t the best comparison… but on the left is a Hobonichi A6 Notebook (which I use as an overflow journal aka, where I keep trash haha) and on the right is the 2026 Midori Hibino (my memory keeper). Look at the bulk and book’s binding.
I am so amazed with how this is bulking up. I thought it would be more obnoxious but it’s honestly so nice and flatter than expected. This paper, to me, is like magic. It’s so nice.
Above is a photo of how I “fold” the pages to make it easier to write in. The binding on this book is holding up so well. The pages are still all aligned despite the bulk. I’ll try and take photos for comparison with my other journals in my next post because to me, it’s such a big difference.
With all this said, yes, I LOVE and yes, I WILL get one for 2027.
I usually purchase all of my things on Atlas Stationers, but I saw that the Midori Hibino 2027 is already available on Amazon Prime (Japan) with Free Shipping and such a good price, so I pushed the button hehe. 2027 is available in Camel, Blue Green and new color, PINK! Guess which one I got. It should be here in a week and I can not wait! I will definitely update with pictures once it is here.
Along with this, I will have an A6 notebook for my overflow/trash. I have many A6 notebooks here, both Hobonichi and Midori, so I’ll just use one of those. I will however, get a new Hobonichi A6 cover. I don’t know which one yet as I’m waiting to see what Atlas Stationers will have in stock. They are actually doing their PREVIEW tonight at 9pm CST. Once I see that, I’ll make my list for all the Hobonichi things I want to get and will report back.
Oh, before I go, I wanted to mention… my weeks dilemma. I’m telling myself not to get a Hobonichi Weeks this year as it’ll be the 3rd year that I barely used it. But the thing is, I like having it and I do use some of the back pages for notes and bills. I’m hoping to find an alternative… Once I find something similar… maybe smaller? I’ll report back.
