As some of you may know, we moved end of May and since then, we’ve been busy renovating parts of the new house, unpacking and redecorating. Hi Charmaine! You office looks beautiful and I the new desk is very pretty. I also have seen your previous post that displayed your old French writing desk that you got from Overstock and I had been debating getting one of those for myself. I have not been able to decide on an exact desk that I want for myself (it’s such a big decision :)). I was just curious why you changed desks? As adorable as that French writing desk is, part of what has held me back from buying it was that it is so small that I have second guessed the practicality of it in the long term. So I was curious what made you decide to change desks. Did it end up being too small? It’s seems like there really isn’t much room to work on, write on, and use as a main desk. Did it hold up well for you? I always wonder about the actual quality of a piece of furniture when buying online since I can’t see it in person. It seems more like a cute display desk than an actual working desk, but it was so cute looking. Ultimately the room I’m planning to make my office is small so I don’t want to go with a desk that is overly large. But at the same time I need something that will be functional to use day to day and doesn’t just look pretty. I loved both of your desks and any thoughts and insight on your experience with it would be much appreciated. I feel like the desk is the one piece of furniture in an office that really sets the tone for the style. Such a big decision to make… Thanks so much,

I love the desk from Overstock! It was a fantastic desk and great quality. I had a larger desk before (about the same width as the one I have now), which I liked but for the size of my last office, I wanted something smaller because I wanted it to fit on that one wall (where I had placed my desk from Overstock). I think if you have a desktop, like an iMac or something similar, it has plenty of space. As you can see, it has kinda like two levels? So I had my Desktop/iMac and I also had my laptop and I was comfortable working on that desk, with still some room to spare for my planner.
Now I never did crafting on the desk or anything like that because I don’t think that’s enough room so that’s something to consider. I would have kept the desk but the style I was going for and the room layout of my new office is so different. Plus I had finally saved up to get my dream desk haha.
So overall, I think the Overstock desk is great! The quality is great and it looks great too! I really love it. I do recommend it. It just really depends on YOUR OWN NEEDS. I hope this helps 🙂 xoxo
