My first ultimate goal to our living room is to make it as cozy as possible.
The living room is where Tom and I spend most of our time together, whether it be relaxing -laying down, watching a movie and even sometimes eating. So I want the living room to be inviting and really comfortable. We also both have nieces and nephews so I wanted everything to be “kid” friendly as well.
Doesn’t that look so cozy? I love all the light colors and the cottage-y look. Those shelves are also so appealing – great for displaying your decor and as storage. And can we take a moment to admire that coffee table? I just love it. Also having a fireplace is just so pretty and really adds to that “cozy” feeling.
I absolutely love pillows, the more the better! But Tom doesn’t really fancy so many pillows. If he could, we would have none. lol But the gentleman that he is, we have pillows ♥ I just love decorative throw pillows which adds that bit of a glam/color/life to a space and oh a blanket/throw is a must as well for those cold nights; Or just to snuggle in.
The Perfect Sofa
Speaking of cozy, you need the perfect sofa. I mean, how else are you going to be “cozy” if you’re sitting on something super stiff? Not only does it need to be comfortable, it also needs to look classy.
I’ve fallen in love with the nail-head designs on sofas and loveseats. I just think they look so classic and traditional. We found the perfect ones from Ashley Furniture! I can not wait ’til it arrives!
Look how comfy that looks? I love everything about this room… and do I spy a nail-head design on that sofa!?
In my last living room post, I mentioned I didn’t know if I wanted an ottoman or a coffee table. Well, we decided on a coffee table. I just feel like it’s more functional and goodness, do I love coffee tables WITH drawers!? I just love the fact that I have a place to hide those clickers (remote controls), instead of having ’em lie around everywhere.
Isn’t that coffee table fabulous? I just think having that extra storage is nice – you can put phonebooks in there, tv guides and such for easy access 😉
Our living room is super LONG. So we have this extra space behind our sofa… and when I saw the photo above, I was like, “Oh My Gosh! That is perfect!” A buffet or console table (whatever you wanna call it) would go great in that space. And it’s extra storage! Ahh, so perfect!
This surprisingly came super EASY for me. For some weird reason, I’ve really gravitated toward anything that is “seafoam” “light blue” color, ever since we moved. I guess I just love the comfy, serene, fresh feeling that it gives me.
The photo above pretty much sums it up. haha I just love the colors and our walls are pretty similar to that as well (ours is just a tad bit more beige). But I just love that pop of blue/seafoam. I think it’s so nice on the eyes and something that you really can’t get sick of. It’s also really easy to match to browns and grays 😉
You don’t think I’m going to end this post without mentioning the color “gold” right? haha! I love gold so you know it! Another accent I want to throw in is “gold.” Our center piece for the mantle is actually gold and the nail head design on our new sofa & loveseat will be as well so eeek!!! Anyways, I just love the little hints of gold in this photo.
It is pure perfection ♥
So that’s it for this post. I hope you enjoyed it and got some inspiration. Let me know what your inspiration is for your living room in the comments below 😉
